FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Do you offer LBP design services, building consent applications, or custom drawings?
A: NO. 3D Maker Limited does not offer LBP-related services, custom design work, site visits, or building consent application services. All plans are sold as pre-designed, digital PDF downloads strictly under Section 3A of Schedule 1 of the Building Act 2004 (which does not require LBP design or builder sign-off).
Q: Where can I buy the plans?
A: You can purchase my plans on two platforms:
• Buy Me a Coffee Shop: Listed at a 34% discount (66% of TradeMe price) with an INSTANT direct PDF download link upon payment.
• TradeMe: Listed at full price; digital files are emailed within 2 working days.
Q: Can I get a free material list or concept plan before buying?
A: YES. You can download the concept plans and a 95%-accurate Material List for every single cabin design completely for FREE on my Buy Me a Coffee shop page before making any purchase.
Q: How much will a cabin cost to build, or will my local timber merchant stock these materials?
A: Material prices, labor rates, and local stock levels vary across New Zealand. Please download the free Material List from my shop page and take it directly to your local timber merchant (PlaceMakers, ITM, Carters, Mitre 10) to get an exact quote for your build.
Q: Can I build this myself, or do I need a licensed builder?
A: Under Schedule 1, Section 3A of the Building Act, you are legally permitted to build an exempt single-storey building yourself without a licensed builder. However, evaluating your own DIY skill, experience, and carpentry competency is entirely your responsibility.
Q: Can I add plumbing to an exempt cabin later?
A: Under NZ law, it is permissible to build an exempt 30sqm building first and apply for a building consent later to add plumbing. However, 3D Maker Limited provides ZERO guarantees that your local council will approve a future plumbing consent. The owner accepts full responsibility for all site-specific due diligence and council interactions.
Q: Can I call or email you with questions about my build or site?
A: NO. My digital plans are sold as "as-is" digital products and do NOT include follow-up customer service, phone calls, site-eligibility consultations, or technical support.
